Belém, Brazil, 10 November 2025 — The Green Digital Action Hub (GDA Hub) was officially launched at COP30 as a new global platform to harness digital innovation for climate action and sustainability. Building on the Green Digital Action partnership initiated by ITU at COP28, the Hub will accelerate the integration of digital technologies with sustainability goals — with a special focus on the Global South.
As part of UNITAR, SCYCLE contributes its expertise on e-waste, circular electronics, and data-driven sustainability solutions to the GDA Hub’s mission of “greening digital and greening by digital.” This includes providing insights into global e-waste data, circular economy strategies, and digital monitoring systems for technology’s environmental footprint.
Through this collaboration, SCYCLE supports the Hub’s ambition to track emissions and e-waste, map national green digital goals, and scale sustainable digital solutions worldwide — helping countries and industries align innovation with climate objectives.
“The Green Digital Action Hub provides a unique opportunity to bridge science, policy, and capacity development for sustainable digital transformation,” said Michelle Gyles-McDonnough, UNITAR Executive Director. “By linking data-driven insights with hands-on training, we aim to help countries accelerate responsible digital innovation that supports both climate goals and circular economy transitions.”
